Metro Ministries believes in the power of prayer. Please read the stories and needs of the children of the world. With your help, together we will lift them up in prayer.
South Africa
We give thanks to God for the wonderful success of the World Cup holiday clubs. They were hard work but worth it. The children enjoyed hours of fun activities, games, being part of a team, dramas, bible lessons and singing. Each child was given the opportunity to be prayed with. Child after child asked for prayer in how to deal with the fact that they had no parent, as their mom had recently died. Many cried as they felt the loving arms of our Father in heaven bringing comfort to their grieving souls. Please pray that the work of the Holy Spirit continues in these young lives.
We are very involved in the life of a little boy, who is very sick and is in fact dying from AIDS. At present he is in a home for chronically sick children because of the social circumstances of his family. Here at Metro we are doing our best to improve his family situation. Please pray for this little boy that he can go home to his mother as this is his desperate desire. Pray she will be able to care for him. Pray for metro staff as they serve this family and seek to bring a time of peace to this little boy's life.
Philippines
We are still fundraising and hoping that the finances will come in for the compound we look to purchase in the fall. We are getting closer to this goal, but there is still a large amount we need to raise before we have enough. Please pray for God?s favor and provision as we hold onto this goal, believing it is what we need to see the ministry grow.
We are seeking additional churches all over the Manila area to partner with for Sunday school, as well as growing the adult congregation. As we branch out over the area, please pray that doors will be opened and people will open their hearts to partnering with us.
Romania
There are many children that have come to the Sunday school over the years that are now entering their teen years. As they grow and develop into young men and women of God, please pray that we as a staff will have strength, wisdom, patience and love to train and guide them under the Word of God. We strive to see these young people grow into men and women that will continue with the ministry and continue to see their villages turn to God.
One of our young ladies was recently in a situation that involved police activity in her home. She was put in danger with some older men of the village. She attends our teen program regularly, but now is in trouble because of this situation. Please pray not only for her safety, but also for the other teens in the program. Pray that they would not be tempted by the things going on around them, but they would continue to live for God.
USA:
Pastor Bill:
- God's protection and favor as he travels.
- Wisdom for the decisions he makes daily.
- Revelation and quickening of his spirit as he studies the word and prepares messages.
- Mercy and grace as he speaks to people from all around the world.
- Rest in God.
- Continued perseverance.
Metro Staff / Interns:
- Unity.
- Servant-minded.
- Increase in love for each other and love for the people they reach.
- Perseverance as they walk out in obedience.
- Increase of the Holy Spirit as they minister to the children.
- Strength, wisdom and discernment to help teach the people how to walk with the Lord.
Sunday School:
- Open doors for the staff/ volunteers to go into new areas in NYC with the Gospel.
- Pray for the kids who attend Sunday School to allow the Word to go deep in their hearts and change the way they live.
- Pray for the kids to learn to trust in God for all things in their life and to find Him as their source.
- Pray for the kids who used to attend Sunday School to come back and become who God has created them to be.
Departments:
- Pray for all the departments; Won by One, Run With One, Finance, Youth Ministry, Adult Ministry, Partner Relations, Maintenance, Sidewalk Sunday School, Indoor Sunday School, Bootcamp, Administration.
- Pray for the department heads to lead with vision, wisdom, and direction from God.
